The annual award honors “a power couple who embodies the entrepreneurial spirit of Johnson”

The State of Arkansas is honoring one of its native sons, John H. Johnson, with an official holiday, Friday, November 1, 2019. John H. Johnson Day was established April 16, 2019 during the 92nd General Assembly. Johnson published Ebony and Jet Magazines, and was the founder, publisher, chairman and CEO of Johnson Publishing Company, once the largest Black-owned publishing company in the world.

As part of the holiday celebration, CCG’s Eddie and Sherra Armstrong will be presented with the inaugural John H. Johnson Entrepreneur Award, which recognizes “a power couple who embodies the entrepreneurial spirit of Johnson.”

The award will be presented by Dr. Barbara Lofton of the Sam M. Walton College of Business (WCOB) at the University of Arkansas Fayetteville, as part of the unveiling ceremony of the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center in Little Rock.

Eddie and Sherra are honored to be the recipients of this incredible award. The Cannabis Capital Group is dedicated to democratizing the Green Rush and giving people of color access to this rapidly expanding industry. CCG is proud to continue John H. Johnson’s incredible legacy of entrepreneurship.
